As part of my Hmong Vases - Pleated Collection, this piece was inspired by Hmong skirts of the Hmong White Dialect. From the pure white dresses layered in between all the colorful handsewn tops and neon wraps, I wanted to help showcase Hmong skirts in another functional way that can stay out of our HCA (Hmong Clothes Addict) suitcases and on our coffee tables instead.
This piece was specially fired using a process called Raku Firing. This is a method where pots are removed from the hot kiln whilst still hot and are left to cool quickly in the open air.
